Press Secretary of the Russian Embassy in Canada comment that was requested, but omitted in Dan Levin's ( "New York Times", Oct.4) article titled  "Canadian Lawmakers say Pro-Russia Group Tried To Derail Sanctions Law":

"Members of the Russian Congress of Canada are tax-paying Canadian citizens or residents representing large Russian community which is the integral part of the multicultural and multinational Canadian society.

Their efforts in full compliance with Canadian laws to normalize Canada-Russia relations in the interests of both countries, as well as to express concern over ethnic animosity or hatred, including Russophobia, are highly welcomed and encouraged.

As long as diversity and inclusion are official policy in Canada, it makes a contrast with the current outburst in the US of McCarthy-type witch hunt against anyone who speaks publicly for better relations with Russia."
